Mr. Smith’s law practice includes civil litigation with extensive experience in cases involving insurance disputes, construction defects, tractor-trailer accidents, premises liability, and personal injury. Prior to starting Solis & Smith, P.C. in January of 2009, he worked at a defense litigation firm handling these same types of cases on the other side of the aisle.
His insurance experience involves representing policyholders, including individuals and businesses, in disputes such as claims underpayment, denial and bad faith. He has handled several hundreds of cases around the state of Texas dealing with claims disputes that arose from property losses from hurricanes, hail storms, windstorms, fires and theft.
He is committed to the pursuit of excellence by aggressively representing his clients to the best of his ability. In addition to providing well-reasoned and conscientious solutions and strategies for representing his clients, he takes pride in maintaining a strong professional relationship with his clients.
Mr. Smith is licensed to practice in the State of Texas and is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Courts for the Western, Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas.
Mr. Smith is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He has been recognized by Texas Monthly Magazine as a Super Lawyer Rising Star for 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. He has also been recognized by Scene in S.A. Magazine as a top attorney in San Antonio for 2009, 2010 and 2011. He is a member of the Texas Trial Lawyer’s Association and San Antonio Trial Lawyer’s Association.
Mr. Smith received his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Texas A&M University where he was a member of the Corps of Cadets and received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from St. Mary’s University School of Law.
